Works by students of Arkhip Kuindzhi - Nikolai Roerich and Konstantin Bogayevsky - belong to the genre of symbolic landscape, being the fruit of reflection on the meaning of life, man's place in the world, the fate of civilization. Roerich's "Ancient Landscape" (1911) with its dull, whitish colors seems veiled by the centuries. As if through a prism of time we look at the panorama stretched young earth in front of us, on which mankind has yet to make first steps.
