Russian Impressionism was continued by the painters of the "Union of Russian Artists" - Stanislav Zhukovsky, Leonard Turzhansky, Sergey Vinogradov, and Abram Arkhipov. Their paintings involve us in an optimistic world of Russian province with its measured way of life and a clear sky over the head. The real masterpiece is the landscape by Leonard Turzhansky - "Summer" (1916 - 1917) with the rich texture generously overlaid paint, as if transmitting the author's "joie de vivre". The painting was drawn in his native village near Yekaterinburg and shows the artist's family.
