Especially valuable part of the collection consists of works by Vasily Polenov. Pictures of the series "The Life of Christ" (1890 - 1900s), - "We decided to go to Jerusalem", "Ushered in a tearful joy" and a sketch for the painting "Children were brought" - are all settled in plein-air manner. They are seen more as lyrically painted scenes in which the image of Christ is given quite terrestrial in nature; human harmony with the surrounding world is expressed, filled with light and air of the landscape of Palestine.
